The real estate business for the past year has been off the grid.
Some areas affected more than others; some regions bouncing around more than usual.
While the Commonwealth didn’t experience the extreme run up and resulting bubble seen by the aforementioned foursome, perhaps Massachusetts had a secret weapon…corporations such as Raytheon which continually develop and innovate, bringing tremendous value to the state’s economy.
The Massachusetts based enterprise employs over 73,000 people worldwide!
Raytheon helms its own shock and awe campaign when it comes to investing in the right man or woman for the job.
And it will do what’s necessary to attract and retain the best and brightest for its key positions.
Former Lincoln resident Taylor Lawrence was the beneficiary of a relo perk that included a $500k payout to cover the difference in the original purchase price of his Massachusetts home and the price sold, when he needed to be moved to Tucson, AZ after assuming the position of president of Raytheon’s Missile Systems, the “world leader in the design, development, and production of missile systems.”
And of course his former position as vice president of engineering, technology, and mission assurance based in Waltham, brought another talented executive, Mark Russell, up in Raytheon’s ranks. A UMass grad, Russell had returned to UMass many years ago for his master’s degree in electrical engineering under the Raytheon Advanced Study Scholarship Program – yet another example of corporate investment in the Bay State.
The corporate headquarters of many impressive companies call the Bay State home, and management evolves – along a continuum of promotions, relocations, and reassignments.
Relocation packages provided by corporations and start-ups can be impressive – financially and dynamically.
