Gridiron Glories, Rivalries, and Recap…Thanksgiving…John Prescott’s The MetWest Football Scene

It’s been quite a season

Gridiron splendor for some; disappointing losses for others.

High school football in metrowest Boston captures the hearts and minds of many.  Communities rally, cheerleaders perform, and the players make contact.

Skirmishes, scrimmages, grinding, passes, rushes…our high school teams represent the passions and rivalries of town histories and future stars.

Some of this season’s key players will go on to college, and then on to gridiron glories on the national stage.

Ryan Izzo, Jean Baptiste, Andrew Perlmutter,…just some of the names we are sure to hear from in the future.

Joey Larracey…a young player we will never forget.

There have been highlights…and lowlights.

High school drinking clamored to be addressed, and school systems including Lincoln-Sudbury, Westwood, Needham, and Belmont swiftly answered.

And the Thanksgiving games did not disappoint…for many, the end of the season, and for some the last stop before playoffs.

And just in case you didn’t see the game, or connect with Thanksgiving High School football Twitter, here are the results as reported by High School Sports, http://www.boston.com:
