So You Think You Can Dance” has become an enormously popular television program with a huge following.  But the program, as well as “Dancing With The Stars,” “Randy Jackson‘s Dance Crew,” and multiple other shows focusing on dance, wouldn’t be the highly rated shows they are today if it weren’t for the talented choreographers who are the foundation of these shows.

Monkeyhouse, a nonprofit which connects communities to the art of choreography is hosting a unique competition to bring student writers to the world of choreographers and the business of media publication.

If you’re a sophomore or junior who lives in Natick or goes to school in town, you are invited to submit a writing sample to Monkeyhouse.  If you write well, think writing about the arts sounds like fun, or if you simply enjoy writing about dance, then this is a unique opportunity.

Karen Krolak, the artistic director of Monkeyhouse, says that the organization is looking to involve high school students to participate in a writing workshop on Nov. 23 and Dec. 7 at the Impulse Dance Center.  Students will write about a choreographer who has “either trained, taught, or lived in Natick.”

The Natick Bulletin & Tab will then publish the article.

What a fabulous way to get your work published in a major media outlet!

Just think…your perspective out there for the world to see!  Your chance to have a voice…

If you’re interested, don’t miss out!

Submission of writing samples must be sent by Nov. 18th to monkeyhouselovesme@gmail.com.
