Yesterday Holliston said goodbye to Joey Larracey.
The church of St. Mary’s was filled to capacity as family, friends, teammates, fellow students, and others deeply touched by the tragedy came to honor Larracey.
The eulogies helped to paint a picture of who Joey was to all those who loved him. Everyone concurred that he didn’t have to “work hard to be nice; he just was.”
Larracey had seemingly earned the respect of all who knew him, and judging by the outpouring of condolences, will be remembered with a sincere fondness by everyone touched by this young man’s life.
During a football scrimmage in Lakeville last Friday night, Larracey was hit in the chest. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries later that evening. The cause of death is still under investigation.
In honor of Joey Larracey, No. 73, a scholarship has been set up at Middlesex Savings Bank. Donations may be made to : Joseph Larracey Scholarship Fund, c/o Middlesex Savings Bank, 830 Washington St., Holliston, MA 01746.
