Well for many of us, the passing of the Labor Day barbeque blow-out brings with it the anticipation of crisp fall afternoons and watching our favorite football teams take to the field.

The real estate buzz during the NFL offseason has been in overdrive as we’ve seen a lot of free agents putting their homes on the market both here in Boston and nationwide, as NFL players move up or on.

Wide receiver Wes Welker of the New England Patriots who failed to reach a new deal and became a free agent has listed his Boston townhouse for $2.75 million.   While the leader in receptions for the past 5 years won’t have the comfort of a long-term contract, he’s been hard at work in training camp focusing on the coming season–and probably on getting his house ready for the market!

Wes Welker – New England Patriots

With his status after this season in question, Welker put his Boston, MA townhome on the market in July. The Patriots All-Pro, fresh off of a 122-catch, 1,569-yard season, had hoped to secure a long term pact from New England, which still may happen, but in the meantime, Welker will have to settle for the $9.5 million franchise tender.

Welker’s property in question, a 2,375 square-foot penthouse, includes a total of three bedrooms and three baths, including a master suite complete with a balcony and a sitting room with a wet bar.

And if that’s not enough to wet your whistle, jump on the the $2.75 million home’s elevator and head up to a private roof top deck, complete with unparalleled views of downtown Boston.
