Turnpike officials will be closing a ramp in Newton in January to monitor traffic flow near the Route 16/Mass Pike interchange.
The entrance to the toll road at Route 16 will be closed during rush hour on nine mornings between Jan. 12 and Jan. 23.
This is a temporary move, designed to allow a study on traffic impact to take place.
Presumably the data will also have an impact on proposed plans to hike the tolls at the Weston toll booth. Hopefully the Turnpike Authority will be forthcoming with the results of the January study.
